. . . It takes a community!
The importance of the community and the Boys and Girls club of Mount Vernon continue to strive for support after 95 years. We are proud of our past and present members are looking to revitalize the club and prepare us for the future. The Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon is a community collaboration of parents, residents, politicians, alumni, serving over 500 young people from disadvantaged circumstances.

The Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon, New York is a member of the Boys and Girls Club of America, chartered by Congress to fight juvenile delinquency. Boys and Girls clubs have provided time-tested programs for youth at-risk since the late 1800’s and have been rated as the top agency in the United States serving underserved youth. In an alumni survey by Lou Harris & Associates they determined that there are about 3.5 million Boys and Girls Club or Boys and Girls Club alumni in the United States, and that overwhelmingly they had a highly satisfactory experience in their club. More than 9 out of 10 reported that being in a Boys Club or Boys and Girls Club had a positive effect on their lives. They are shown that someone cares and wants them to become active and happy citizens of our city, state, and nation. There are literally thousands who served and benefited from the clubs.

We consider our alumni unique by their individual approach in utilizing the tools provided through our structured programs. Although we can’t name all alumni, we are proud to have dynamic past members serve our organization.

SERVING THE YOUTH OF MOUNT VERNON

Our goal is to provide a State-of-art facility with top quality programs that prepare young people as productive citizens by keeping them off the streets and away from negative societal influences of crime, drugs, and gang activities.

For 95 years, the Boys & Girls Club has played an integral role in the Mount Vernon community, providing daily programs and services to over 500 youth. The club is open 6 days a week. With programs that emphasize character and leadership development, education and career enhancement, health and life skills, the arts, sports, fitness and recreation.

We would like to thank all for their support in allowing us to continue to provide such important life lessons within our community.
