The Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon is a community collaboration of parents, residents, politicians, alumni, serving over 300 young people from disadvantaged circumstances.
The Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon, New York is a member of the Boys and Girls Club of America, chartered by Congress to fight juvenile delinquency. Boys and Girls clubs have provided time-tested programs for youth at-risk since the late 1800ís and have been rated as the top agency in the United States serving underserved youth. In an alumni survey by Lou Harris & Associates they determined that there are about 3.5 million Boys and Girls Club or Boys and Girls Club alumni in the United States, and that overwhelmingly they had a highly satisfactory experience in their club. More than 9 out of 10 reported that being in a Boys Club or Boys and Girls Club had a positive effect on their lives. They are shown that someone cares and wants them to become active and happy citizens of our city, state, and nation. There are literally thousands who served and benefited from the clubs.
We consider our alumni unique by their individual approach in utilizing the tools provided through our structured programs. Although we canít name all alumni, we are proud to have dynamic past members serve our organization.
